Anderson Germany Turns Ferrari F430 Spider into Scuderia Spider 16M
A new alternative tuning proposal for owners of the Ferrari F430 Spyder has been released by Anderson Germany. The design house has created a package that brings the brings the regular version closer to the flagship edition of the series, the F430 Spider Scuderia 16M. The transformation begins on the outside with a new aero kit comprising of a front air dam, side skirts and a rear apron. Anderson Germany then finishes the car in a new color called Hyper Black and adds pin stripes in the form of carbon fiber accents with a yellow border.
The smoked headlamps and tail lights along with the new tail pipes and a set of three-piece, 20-inch glossy black alloy wheels with carbon and yellow border shod in 235 tires at the front and 325 at the rear axle complete the look.
The two-tone color theme continues inside with a mix of carbon black leather and Alcantara, contrasted by yellow piping. Anderson Germany also adds a carbon-fiber trim package with decorative pieces for the steering wheel, door handles, doorsill plates, handbrake lever and shift paddles.
The tune continues with the performance upgrades that include an ECU optimization and a custom sports exhaust system that help boost output from 490-horses to 569HP. The company also fiddled around with the suspension adding a three-level remote adjustable racing damper control.
Ferrari North Europe Brightens the Lives of 50 Special Children
On Tuesday, July 26, 50 special children will enjoy being driven around the Silverstone circuit in a Ferrari California by professional racing drivers from the British Racing Driver’s Club along with “BRDC SuperStars”, young drivers learning to be the professionals of tomorrow. Ferrari North Europe organizes the event for the second time in collaboration with the BRDC and two charities, The Variety Club and BEN, to brighten the lives of some disabled, disadvantaged and seriously ill children. During the children’s 15-minute ride in the passenger seat of the California, their families will have access to the BRDC Clubhouse.
Matteo Torre, Ferrari North Europe’s Regional Manager, commented: “It is our honour and privilege to be able to share the excitement of riding in a Ferrari with another group of truly deserving children. Last year’s event was unforgettable, not only for the children but for all those who donated their time and energy. We look forward to create another memorable day”.
Maserati SUV may get Hemi V8, not Ferrari V8 after all
Environmentalists may hate them, but SUVs have proved quite popular –that’s why even carmakers with no former experience are jumping in on the bandwagon, especially in the executive (and most profitable) market. The latest automaker to do so is Maserati which will launch its first ever crossover next year. At first, Fiat-Chrysler’s CEO, Sergio Marchionne, had revealed that that the Maserati SUV will be based on the new Grand Cherokee’s platform, which in turn is based on the quite capable Mercedes M-Class. However, Marchionne had also hinted that, like other Maserati models, it may get a Ferrari V8 –a very mouth-watering, and logical, proposal since the two companies belong to the same group.
But now it seems, according to a report from Top Gear magazine, that this may not be the case because the Italian V8’s high-revving nature is not as suitable for an SUV, which requires beefy low-end torque.
Marchionne’s solution to the problem? The Chrysler-built 6.4-litre and 465 hp Hemi, because it already fits the platform and seems like the obvious, and much cheaper choice than Ferrari’s V8.
In any case, don’t expect the Maserati SUV to display the Grand Cherokee’s off-road performance. It will instead be more performance-orientated with a plush interior and the emphasis given on on-road performance and handling.
New Ferrari FF gets Ready for its First Tuning Job
Not even Ferrari’s most recent models are exempt from the manic hands of tuners. What we have here are preliminary renderings of what could be the very first tuning job on the freshly revealed, all-wheel drive Ferrari FF supercar. The company behind the creation is German supercar specialist DMC. The package is called ‘Maximus’ and for the time being includes a new extended front bumper with additional air vents and a lip spoiler, side scoops in front of the rear wheel and a restyled rear bumper incorporating a large diffuser.
The tuning company said the body kit will not only provide a more aggressive appearance to the Italian supercar but also enhance its aerodynamic properties at high speeds.
More details on the Maximus package for the Ferrari FF are to be released at a later date.
F1 to Adopt Turbo 1.6-Litre V6s, not 4-Cylinders, from 2014
It seems that Formula 1’s rules that were supposed to take effect from the 2013 season are being scrapped before they are even imposed. Those regulations called for the replacement of today’s 2.4 V8 motors by 4-cylinder turbocharged 1.6 liter units, a proposal that had being strongly opposed by certain teams such as Ferrari. Now the sports’ governing body, the FIA, has offered an alternative: 1.6-liter turbocharged V6s with hybrid Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS), with the implementation of the new rules being pushed back one year, to 2014.
This compromise, which has already been approved and will soon be ratified by the World Motor Sport Council, is expected to appease the opposing teams, as it offers a compromise between the two layouts.
